Chai, PolyBuzz, Paradot and Anima are missing from the iPhone App Store
Four AI companion apps can no longer be found on Apple's App Store as of October 27, 2026. What each company has said, what Apple changed on October 16, and what iPhone users can do.
Four AI companion apps we track can’t be found on Apple’s App Store anymore. We checked on October 27, 2026. Chai, PolyBuzz and Anima return no listing in any of the 52 App Store storefronts we queried, and Paradot no longer shows up when you search for it on the US store.
None of the four has said its iPhone app is gone for good, and Apple hasn’t named any of them. Here is what we could confirm, app by app, and what it means if you use one of them on an iPhone.
What each company has said
Chai. CompanionHunt reported on October 22 that Chai’s iPhone app had been pulled from the US App Store and other storefronts. It quotes the founder: “while we’re working on improving our Apple app, it is currently unavailable to download.” The same report says copies already installed keep working. Chai is still listed for Android.
PolyBuzz. Apple’s lookup for its App Store ID returns nothing, and the old listing page is gone. PolyBuzz hasn’t published a reason that we could find. The app is still offered on Android and on the web.
Paradot. A search for “Paradot” on the US App Store returns no Paradot app. The company hasn’t said why. Paradot still lists Android and web versions.
Anima. The App Store link that Anima’s own website gives for its iPhone app leads to no listing in any storefront we checked. The site now shows a notice pointing visitors to GetHoney, which it describes as its more advanced experience, and says Anima is still here. Anima hasn’t given a date or a reason for the iPhone app.
What Apple changed on October 16
On October 16, Apple published revised App Review Guidelines. One of the changes clarifies which kinds of apps fall under guideline 1.2, the rule on user-generated content, and says that failing to put safeguards in place, or to fix violations after notice, can count as a breach of the Developer Code of Conduct.
The same day, Apple posted a note on tightening its rules against nonconsensual intimate imagery and “bait-and-switch” apps, and repeated that pornographic material has long been banned from the App Store.
Apple named no apps in either post. We don’t know whether these removals are connected to the update, and none of the four companies has said so. The timing is the only link we can point to, and timing alone doesn’t prove anything.
If you use one of these apps on an iPhone
Start with your subscription. If you paid through Apple, Apple manages the subscription, not the app, so check it in Settings on your iPhone even if you can’t open the app. Apple’s support page shows how to see and cancel it there.
If the app is still installed, try opening it before you delete it. Chai’s founder says installed copies keep working; the other three haven’t said either way. Deleting the app may mean you can’t download it again from the App Store.
If you want to keep your chats with the same companion, check the Android or web version first. Chai, PolyBuzz and Paradot all still offer one, and each app’s profile on CrushRated lists its platforms with the date we last checked.
We’ll update this post and the four profiles if any of the apps comes back to the App Store or a company explains what happened.
